unable to reset un-bricked wap54g v3.1

I followed the de-bricking instructions---I reset the flash which made me able to ping the device, I subsequently uploaded the firmware via tftp, which was successful, however the device would not reset properly, and simply powering it down would brick it again (I repeated the process several times to no avail.) Any suggestions?

What version of firmware are

What version of firmware are you attempting to flash the WAP54G with.

I generally use 2.07 as a starting point. This is generally because I find that going directy to 3.04.03 doesn't seem to work first time. Once you have 2.07 installed then upgrade to 3.04.03 in the ussual way.

The behavior was identical

tftp binary mode did the trick---I assumed the binary mode is used by default.
